Meet Dr. Berley

Ken Berley, DDS, DABDSM, has practiced general, implant and cosmetic dentistry for over 43 years.  A concern and passion for the patient's well-being combined with his dental experience, led Dr. Berley to complete extensive training in the field of dental sleep medicine to ensure the effective and appropriate treatment of patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea.  Dr. Berley has gained recognition among physicians, dentists, and patients for his ability to effectively treat and manage patients with mild to severe obstructive sleep apnea using oral appliance therapy.

In 2015, Dr. Berley became the first Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in Northwest Arkansas.  Dr. Berley is also an attorney and with his knowledge and experience he teaches other dentists across the U.S. how to ethically and effectively treat patients with obstructive sleep apnea.  In 2019 Dr. Berley co-authored The Clinician's Handbook for Dental Sleep Medicine

Dr. Berley is a member of numerous national and state dental and sleep organizations including the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Dental Association, Arkansas State Dental Association, International College of Dentists and the River Valley Dental Association.  Dr. Berley is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.   He is married to Patty who is his practice manager and they have 3 daughters.   He is an avid outdoorsman as well as a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks Baseball team.

It has been estimated that 20 million Americans suffer from moderate to severe OSA, and at least one patient in five has mild OSA. This book is the how-to guide, a gateway to a successful dental sleep medicine practice. Written by two experts in the field, it clearly delineates the dentist¹s role in the treatment of SRBDs and gives practical advice for how to incorporate dental sleep medicine into an existing dental practice, not to mention how to work with sleep physicians to best support patient care. In addition to step-by-step instructions for examination, appliance selection, and follow-up care, complications of OAT, legal issues, and medical insurance and Medicare considerations are included to fully prepare the dentist for the journey into dental sleep medicine.
